" Ranee" It does not seem possible that I had more than 16 years with Ranee, I picked up this little puppy girl from Katie Tazza on a warm October day. She was the foundation of "Stelor" as well as its heart.

Ranee (RAH-nee) distinguished herself in the "rings"! She had a great show career, going BOB puppy first time in the ring at a match, and went on to easily achieve her bench championship, owner handled! (Yes, I showed her and she even went RWB the last year Westminster KC had classes with her novice handler against a lot of top professionals.)
She had multiple BOB wins and a group placement. She always loved the show ring because it meant "Fine Dining" to her...in fact, at her final appearances as Veteran in 2005 at the LIGSPC specialty at Westchester and the Mason-Dixon Specialty she was sooo funny! She got out of the motor home, realized the show lead was going on HER–and she literally dragged me to the ring, knowing full well that is where the good food is served! She not only ate all the bait I could load in three pockets, but mooched bait from all the unsuspecting bystanders who were amazed at her great nose locating that bait and the shark-like precision in taking it whether it was offered or not!
Ranee and I also ventured into the obedience ring. She was ranked in the Top 10 in Obedience. We had a blast training and showing in obedience–winning many classes and consistently placing. She also enjoyed getting her Junior Hunter title. She received a coveted GSPCA VCA (Versatility Certificate Advanced).

Ranee had two litters. The first, CH Strictly Business x Ranee, produced one champion and one CD, JH. The second litter, CH Liebleinghaus Chief Executive CD JH x Ranee, produced 7 champions, 3 of which went on to multiple group and specialty show wins and one (CH Stelor's Executive Decision JH) who won the GSPCA Puppy Sweepstakes in 1997 and Best Veteran Bitch in 2005, and 4 JH's. She is the granddam and great-granddam of many champions and specialty show winners as well as the 2005 GSPCA Sweepstakes, 2004 BOS Futurity winner and 2005 AOM CH Stelor's Final Decision, and the 2005 GSPCA Futurity BOS and 2007 AOM winner CH Stelor's Remembered Reign JH RE. She is nominated for the GSPCA Registry of Merit for Dams (ROM), producing 8 Champions.

But even more than her accomplishments, Ranee was the heart of Stelor. She trained every single puppy that was born or raised here (except her own because they were perfect from the start!) with infinite patience and wisdom. She always had an impishness about her...and it sprang from a heart of pure innocence and goodness...so when I would walk in a room and drawers and cupboards would be open after her latest "shopping trip" she would always very happily trot over with her latest "prize"...or when she would bop around the house collecting dog food bowls one by one from the crates and bring them to me in hopes a treat would fall in...or when she would bring the TV remote or the ringing phone...Ranee always made me laugh.
Ranee was remarkable in other ways. When my uncle was dying of cancer, she went along with me one day. My uncle didn't particularly like dogs, but Ranee gently hopped on his bed and lay down beside him. My uncle could not hide the smile as he weakly stroked her head. "Amerada" as he called her, went back to see him many times after that and he showed her picture to all his nurses. Little did I know the inordinate amount of joy she would bring not only to me...
I see touches of her in her puppies, grandpuppies and now her great-grandpuppies, what a gift to have had such a wonderful dog.
