The GSPCA is the official representative of the German Shorthaired Pointer to the American Kennel Club. This non-profit organization is dedicated to encouraging and promoting the breeding of purebred German Shorthaired Pointers, and to doing all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. As the Parent Club, the GSPCA is charged with doing all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trial, field trials and hunting tests.

GSP RESCUE is an organizational tool for those who have the capacity to love their breed beyond the regard they hold for their own personal dogs. They have volunteered to assist German Shorthaired Pointers who need homes. These dogs may be in shelters and pounds, from which they must be taken, given health care, reconditioned or trained and placed. The unwanted dog may also come directly from a home where circumstances have changed or the family is breaking up. In these cases, we help the family find an appropriate new home for the dog.
